Damn.........been looking for the program that works for a long long time - old user since 1980's - excellent program - no wonder bought out and closed as it competed against buyers software
Loray, I agree 100 x 100 with you, Micrografx Designer keeps being a very good design program, I work with it since long time ago, (started with Windows NT), I think you are right when you reveal the real reason why it was killed by it's new owners. Now I run it with W7, the os I like the most, and M.D. keeps worling perfectly.
Excellent program, easy, intuitive, complete. It is easy to use for simple technical drawings, but it is easy to learn more sophisticated properties, too
Excellent program, easy, intuitive, complete, excellent graphic results both for technical drawings and for advertising developments. But the Corel who bought the Micrografx deliberately destroyed this program. In fact, Corel Designer 10 is no longer the same program. It is complicated and not intuitive. Such a pity!
It is easy to use for simple technical drawings, but it is easy to learn more sophisticated properties, too. It satisfies my needs. But now, when I have Win 10, in my laptop, and a new Win 10 printer, I have no found a XP driver for the printer. It is possible to look on the screen the old drawings, but no more possible to print them out.
I was using Micrografx Designer 9.0 about 15 years. After Microsoft Windows 10 big update of July 2016, the program has become unusable on my tower PC because of its slowness.
The program still working on my laptop running Windows 8.1. But the screen size is too small to work comfortably.
I tried all the Microsoft tools to resolve this problem without success.
Can someone help me to resolve this problem?
Eventually, I had to stop using my laptop with Win XP pro (best Win ever!). My new Laptop has win 10, so I cannot use my MicrrographX ABC GrraphicsSuite (: using Designer only) ver. 6. I only use it for designing illustrations in my scientific medical books. It will not install on Win 10, so I cannot use all my old illustrations etc. Had an IT technician to setup a shortcut to Win 7 and my old Designer. Hopefully, it works. If not, I must have a new Designer.
I have an old purchased copy of Designer 9 and I'm trying to install it on my new PC to access files previously saved. When I download the disk, I'm told I only have a 30-day trial.
